GPNow Appoints Chief Medical Officer Dr Hishamuddin Badaruddin (Hisham)

Dr Hishamuddin (Hisham) Badaruddin GPNow Chief Medical Officer

Dr Hishamuddin Badaruddin (Hisham) is a public health specialist who has over 20 years’ experience in senior level policymaking and healthcare management.

He studied medicine at the University of Nottingham, UK, as a Government of Brunei scholar and worked in emergency medicine in various hospitals in the UK and Brunei before pursuing Public Health and Epidemiology. He subsequently obtained his Master of Public Health from Emory University, USA, as a Fulbright Scholar.

Hisham is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at both Duke NUS Graduate Medical School in Singapore, and Penn State University, USA. He has worked with the Ministry of Health in Brunei and Singapore, Deloitte, Emergent Biosolutions , Cigna and consulted for WHO, UNICEF, ASEAN, public and private organizations in healthcare, life sciences and government sector. His areas of interest include Healthcare Strategy and Operations, Healthcare Systems Strengthening, Future of Healthcare, Digital Health and Analytics.

Hisham grew up in Brunei but is a Singaporean by birth where he is now based.
