Powering online access to NeuroMoves

SCIA chooses GPNow to offer online access to services Australia-wide.

Spinal Cord Injuries Australia offers a wide range of services across Australia for people with spinal cord injury and other neurological conditions.

Unfortunately, due to the vastness of Australia, not all people have physical access to these services, such as our exercise therapy service NeuroMoves, or our Peer & Family Support program.

Barriers which prevent them from reaching our NeuroMoves sites, or permitting our Peer & Family Support coordinators from visiting would include, but are not limited to:

  • Physical impairment preventing or restricting attendance
  • Geographical isolation and large physical distances
  • Lack of SCIA staff in a geographic area who can help
  • Lack of transportation

With the aim to help people with a spinal cord injury or other neurological condition gain better access to NeuroMoves and our Peer & Family Support Coordinators, SCIA now offer a Telehealth Service.

Through Telehealth, SCIA will be connecting clients to NeuroMoves therapists and Peer & Family Support coordinators using GPNow. SCIA hope that the introduction of Telehealth will not only reduce the barriers that exist for some people to access these vital services, but to also further enhance their rehabilitation.

The Telehealth service is currently in its pilot program stages, during which we are consistently reflecting and remoulding the platform to better service our client’s needs.
